Kent County VINELink Coverage
KCSO Victim Services points the public straight to Maryland VINE. That makes VINE the county-directed alert path. Maryland bills the service as free, confidential, and multilingual. It reports custody, court-case, and protective-order status. Reach it at VINELink, through the app, or by calling 1-866-634-8463. TTY users dial 1-866-847-1298.
The endorsement does not promise that every Kent County Detention Center booking shows up. The exact fields KCDC sends are not documented either. Refresh rate and retention stay unpublished. A missing match can mean the record is new, indexed differently, released, transferred, or simply outside the data set. Treat whatever appears as one time-stamped source, and start any search from the official VINELink start screen, where Maryland is the first choice.

This VINELink screen is a search gateway, not a Kent booking list or photo gallery.
Check a Kent County Arrest
Start with detail. The Maryland interface asks for a first and last name and can accept an inmate, booking, or state identifier when you have one. Pick Maryland first. Add the county or facility filter when it appears, and never assume the first similar name is the right person.
- Open VINELink or call Maryland VINE and select Maryland.
- Enter the person's name exactly as known. Add an identifier or facility filter when available.
- Compare each possible match with facts already known. A name alone is not enough.
- Open the likely record and read its status, location, and update time together.
- Save the reference and register for alerts if ongoing notice is useful.
No record showing up? Call the Kent County Detention Center automated line at 410-778-6025 and follow its prompts. KCDC is the official starting point for local custody. For an arrest report or booking material rather than current status, contact KCSO or the agency that made the arrest.
Note: A spelling change, transfer, recent intake, or release can affect a match without erasing the arrest record.
Kent VINELink Result Fields
Details vary with the source record. Maryland materials describe status and notification functions but publish no guaranteed list of KCDC fields, so read only what the live result displays.
| Possible field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name or identifier | Helps distinguish a record when checked with other facts. |
| Custody status | Shows the status supplied at the displayed update time. |
| Facility or location | May show where the covered person is reported held. |
| Case or order status | May appear for supported cases or protective orders. |
| Notification choices | Shows the alert methods offered for that record. |
VINELink is not a booking-photo service. KCSO policy says photos are created during CrimeStar and LiveScan intake. No public Kent photo roster exists. A custody result also leaves out the final court outcome.
Register Kent Custody Alerts
Open the correct record, then follow the registration prompts. Maryland VINE can deliver notices by phone, email, text, web account, or app, depending on the interface. Pick a channel that can be checked safely. Phone registration uses a four-digit PIN to confirm the notification call was received.
- Select the notification option attached to the verified record.
- Choose an available phone, text, email, or app method.
- Create the four-digit PIN for telephone calls.
- Review the events offered, such as release or transfer.
- Complete confirmation and retain the record reference.
Alerts cut down manual checks. They are not a safety plan or formal legal notice. Maryland tells victims not to lean on VINE alone for protection. The KCSO Victim/Witness Service Provider sits with the State's Attorney's Office at 205 Cannon Street, Suite 2, Chestertown, MD 21620. Call 410-810-2264.
The KCSO victim-services page shows the official local route into the VINE network.

KCSO confirms VINE as an alert option here, though the service limits still apply.
Kent VINELink Arrest Limits
Fresh intake can precede a public result. KCSO logs booking and release times inside CrimeStar. But that internal timestamp is not a VINELink posting time. No Kent source promises a delay measured in minutes or hours. For a same-day answer, use the Kent County 24 Hour Arrests fallback and call KCDC.
VINE is not the right locator everywhere. The Maryland DPSCS locator covers people in supported state facilities, not each new Kent arrest. Federal and immigration systems run separate locators. A move outside local custody can demand a new official channel.
Time-stamp each check. Custody can shift after the screen loads, and Kent's regional-housing discussions make later placement worth confirming, since a person can be booked locally, moved, released, or committed to state custody.
When a Kent Alert Arrives
Read the event type first. Check the facility name too. A transfer is not a release, and a status change never explains the whole case. Call the listed facility or KCDC when a notice is unclear. Maryland Case Search covers filed court events and dispositions. Victims needing more notice or planning help can contact the State's Attorney victim/witness provider. For an immediate threat, call 911. Keep the alert private. Verify later changes through the office that supplied the record.
Note: Booking charges are allegations; the court disposition, not a VINE alert, records how a filed case ends.
